Students walk out against Zionism
Published Nov 14, 2011 9:13 PM
Supporters of Palestine organized a successful protest and demonstration against an Israeli Defense Force spokesperson, who spoke at a Zionist forum at the Wayne State University campus in Detroit on Nov. 1. With only 15 hours notice, Arab-American youth issued a call to pack the forum. More than 120 people responded, wearing red duct tape over their mouths and holding signs opposing Zionism. In unison, the supporters of Palestine walked out of the auditorium, leaving behind 20 or so people in the audience. The youth regrouped outside and held a militant demonstration denouncing the Israeli settler state.
