Thousands march for same-sex rights
Published Nov 5, 2008 3:18 PM
Responding to an ultra-right mobilization earlier on Nov. 1 urging passage
of Proposition 8, which would amend the California Constitution to make
same-sex marriage illegal, thousands poured into the streets of San
Diego’s Hillcrest neighborhood chanting, “No on 8!” A high
point of the evening event came when a huge and noisy youth contingent took
over several whole blocks of the mid-city neighborhood.
