Labor marches in NYC

Thousands of trade unionists marched through the middle of Manhattan on
Sept. 9, the day now chosen by New York’s labor unions to celebrate Labor
Day with a parade, since Labor Day itself has become the time of the Caribbean
Day Parade in Brooklyn. Above, a contingent of the Professional Staff Congress,
which represents 20,000 faculty and professional staff at the City University
system.
