Fred Goldstein, author of “Capitalism at a Dead End: Job Destruction, Overproduction and Economic Crisis in the High-Tech Era,” will be speaking and signing copies of the book on April 12, beginning at 7 p.m. at Inquiring Minds Bookstore, 6 Church St., New Paltz, N.Y.
The book explains that the economic crisis beginning in August 2007 marked a turning point in the history of capitalism, which cannot return to the normal capitalist boom-and-bust cycle. It has been well reviewed on the left. Its Spanish edition was just discussed and sold with success at a major international conference in Mexico.
