An evening of solidarity with President Hugo Chávez and the Bolivarian Revolution in Venezuela was held in Philadelphia Jan. 29. The program included solidarity messages from Berta Joubert-Ceci of the Philadelphia International Action Center; Dr. Anthony Monteiro, a professor of African-American Studies at Temple University; Ramona Africa of the MOVE organization; Godfrey Sithole, Philadelphia-area representative of the African National Congress; Walter Smolarek of the Party for Socialism and Liberation; and Betsey Piette of Workers World Party. The film “Inside the Revolution” was shown.
