Supporters demand justice for Central Park Five

New York — Supporters of the Central Park Five rallied at the federal courthouse in lower Manhattan on Jan. 17 to demand justice for the Five in their civil rights lawsuits against the city and the New York Police Department. The five Black and Latino men were falsely arrested, charged, convicted and incarcerated for crimes they did not commit. The courtroom was filled while supporters outside gathered for the demonstration called by the December 12th Movement and the Freedom Party. It was learned that the judge ruled in favor of allowing some information to be made public. The next court date is scheduled for Feb. 19.
