Vigil for Lorenzo Salgado Araujo

Outraged by two more killings of migrant workers — Lorenzo Salgado Araujo in Houston and Joan Sebastian Guerrero in Biddeford, Maine — by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in the last week, over 200 people gathered for a vigil at Philadelphia City Hall on July 14.

Organized by JUNTOS, Make the Road Pennsylvania, Vietlead, Asian Americans United, NO ICE Philly, New Sanctuary Movement, Woori Center, CAIR Philly (Council on American-Islamic Relations) and the Movement of Immigrant Leaders in Pennsylvania, the hour-long vigil was concluded with the somber reading of the names of 21 immigrants known to have been killed so far by ICE in 2026.
