ICE terror in Maine

Portland, Maine — Here in the state of Maine we have winter snow storms every year. What we have now in addition is ICE — Immigration and Customs Enforcement. You say ICE. I say a paramilitary organization created by the federal government of the United States, funded in the tens of billions of dollars by both parties, Republicans and Democrats. 

Lewiston, Maine, Jan. 24, 2026.

This new secret police force wears masks and abducts workers who escape wars and poverty in their countries. The U.S. bombed their countries to steal their natural resources. The African, Latinx and Asian workers seeking a better life get sent back to other countries, or they are held in prison camps in the U.S. and in other countries. For example, the Somali community in Lewiston, Maine, has been targeted and harassed by ICE. 

ICE is also being used to attack protesters, wounding them and killing them. U.S. citizens have been wounded or killed by this terrorist organization controlled by the U.S. government. 

Who will be next? The government won’t stop with immigrants. Trump has attacked our state government and sent these thugs with guns to Maine to round up undocumented workers, a source of cheap labor for local capitalists. The people of Maine are coming out, in the city of Portland and smaller towns such as Biddeford, to protest these abductions. 

The families have been left without income now that the dads or moms have been sent to camps in other states. Evictions are happening. Opposition from the Democratic Party is weak. People who are against Trump have come to the aid of some, and protests are going on. 

Citizens who are African American, Latinx, Indigenous or Asian American are asked by ICE gestapo to present identification cards or documents.  Our cars are pulled over by ICE agents in their vehicles. It’s terror, but the people are getting angry and organizing, fighting back against this occupation. 

It’s a class war on workers in the U.S. and abroad. What happens to us is a result of the ongoing economic crisis, and the people are waking up. To fight for a socialist future is on the agenda of the workers of the nation and the world. Capitalism is no longer suitable. The military organizations of the ruling class have created ICE. It is not going away; they will transform it and use it for future attacks on all workers as the economy gets worse. 

Stop ICE!
