Workers World says  “Hands off Venezuela” and “Abolish ICE”

Workers World newspaper has been on top of reporting the news and analyzing two of the primary issues being addressed by anti-imperialist, anti-racist forces in the U.S. today. Our articles and editorials strongly demand “U.S. out of Venezuela!” and “No ICE on our streets!” and support the activists fighting back against these outrageous U.S. government sieges of a sovereign country and of migrants, Indigenous, Black and Latine communities right here.

Articles were posted at workers.org immediately after the U.S. began raining down murderous missile strikes on Venezuelan boats in the Caribbean Sea. Coverage continued with denunciations of Washington’s militarization of the region, imposition of a “no-fly zone” and an outright U.S. Army attack which killed 100 officials, soldiers and civilians, Venezuelan and Cuban, and resulted in the kidnapping of President Nicolás Maduro and First Combatant Cilia Flores. Our paper quickly criticized the Trump administration’s plan to seize the country’s oil.

WW newspaper has supported Venezuela since the Bolivarian government was established by President Hugo Chavez, and has opposed constant U.S. threats, attacks and sanctions against the sovereign nation. We have published their official communications and solidarity statements by Cuba and many other governments, and reported on worldwide demonstrations opposing Washington’s offensive against Venezuela.

At the same time, WW has reported on the horrid atrocities inflicted on im/migrants by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, on orders from the  Trump administration. These outrageous acts, targeting particularly Black and Latine communities and their supporters, have intensified in U.S. cities, including Minneapolis, where Renee Good was murdered by an ICE agent.

Our newspaper not only reports on capitalism’s horrors, but on the resistance. Our editorials applaud those who oppose war and challenge and chase off ICE agents. Our newspaper is partisan, supporting those repressed – and those who fight back.
