Keeping the pressure on for a free Palestine

Activists maintained protests against the U.S and Israel, calling for a legitimate ceasefire with full sovereignty for Palestine and in recognition of the blood Palestinians have shed for national liberation. Demonstrators from Seattle Against War and other local groups picketed the Kent, Washington, offices of Congress member Adam Smith on Oct. 24, demanding an arms embargo and an end to ceasefire violations. Smith is a longtime servant of the Pentagon and Boeing on the House Armed Services Committee.

On Oct. 30, Jewish Voice for Peace held a neighborhood protest in Seattle with chants, drumming and plenty of Palestinian flags. Activists again protested U.S.-backed Israeli ceasefire violations — killing over 200 people since the latest ceasefire was ratified. Israel has bombed Khan Younis, Gaza City and southern Lebanon, while Hamas has shown great discipline and has returned all of its remaining living hostages.
