‘Our solidarity is an obligation’ to the Palestinian Resistance

The following greeting was given by Workers World contributing editor Sara Flounders to an Oct. 26, 2025, Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine seminar featuring political and strategic analyses of the outcomes and implications of the Oct. 7, 2023, battle. The seminar featured remarks by Fahd Suleiman, Secretary-General of the DFLP.

On behalf of Workers World Party, we extend our continuing solidarity to the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine and to all forces in the heroic, united Palestinian Resistance. 

The world has profoundly changed in two years. Resistance in Gaza has caused a global shift in political consciousness. There is a deeper understanding of imperialism and colonialism. Zionism, as a tool of the West — a colonial outpost — is finally seen for what it is.

Israel is isolated on a global scale. It has failed, utterly failed — despite every form of mass terror, every crime of starvation, assassinations, random shootings, bombings of schools and hospitals — to defeat the Palestinian Resistance.

U.S. imperialism and the Zionist movement are seething in frustration at their failure to defeat the Palestinian movement and sensing their isolation at the hatred directed against them. They will continue to lash out violently and to violate every agreement.

We don’t know what is ahead. But the world movement needs to first and foremost support the Palestinian Resistance and its powerful unity, forged in fire.

Our solidarity is an obligation.

There should be no lecturing to a resistance where every leader — political, military and diplomatic — has been hunted and assassinated, using every high-tech form of weapon.

It is clear that there will be no mercy from the imperialists. Any gain will be based on collective determination, the strength of the demands and mobilization from below.

The Palestinian Resistance has continued generation after generation. They made clear that they can’t be dismissed, wiped out, or their demands for sovereignty ignored.

These two years have changed everything. Let’s embrace this change, take risks, refuse to back down, and always put full solidarity and defense of Palestine at the top of every agenda.
