Protesters say, ‘We won’t pay for Israel’s slaughter’

Three demonstrations for Palestine took place on Dec. 7, 8 and 9 in Portland. Protesters called for an end to Israeli occupation, an end to U.S. funding of Israel and the release of all Palestinian political prisoners.

The demonstration on Dec. 9, titled “We’re Taking the Streets for Palestine,” was sponsored by Free People of Oregon (@freepeoplepdx), a group of Palestinian youth organizers, and supported by Zaytuna College, a Muslim liberal arts college in Berkeley, California. About 1,000 protesters took to the streets in the rain, chanting, “Not another penny, not another dollar, we won’t pay for Israel’s slaughter,” and “Colonizers, we don’t need ‘em! What we want is total freedom!”
