Cuba solidarity activists held a rally against the illegal U.S. blockade of Cuba in front of the statue of José Martí in New York City’s Central Park on Jan. 28. The gathering also paid tribute to Martí, a revolutionary hero who fought for Cuba’s independence from Spain, on the 170th anniversary of his birth. The New York-New Jersey Cuba Sí coalition and Workers World Party were among the groups that participated in the action.
