San Francisco march for Mumia
A march of several hundred people through the
heart of the Mission District of San Francisco on April 24
brought attention to the case of political prisoner Mumia
Abu-Jamal on his 50th birthday. There were opening and closing
rallies at 16th and 24th streets. The demonstration was the
highlight of a weekend of activity to raise awareness around
Mumia’s case that included a film festival in his honor.
