Nadia: 'Interested in taking action'

"Three of us came to New York today from the University of Maryland in Baltimore along with the ANSWER bus from that city," Nadia told Workers World on June 1.

She and many other young people took part in the emergency anti-war conference held in Manhattan. More than 600 people registered at the activist event organized by the Act Now to Stop War & End Racism coalition.

Nadia explained: "We have a group we call the Justice Action Coalition, or JAC. Some of us were in the Muslim Student Association, but we got together with other activist students we met at the university library to form JAC this semester, and worked toward organizing for the April 20 march in Washington."

She said she liked the workshop she attended at the June 1 anti-war conference "that focused on organizing. I want to develop our organizing skills and am more interested in taking action. We will be working on the action projects proposed at this conference," Nadia concluded.
