BALTIMORE
Protest honors Dr. King,
demands stop killer cops
Over
300 protesters took to the streets of Baltimore's west side community of
Park Heights April 1 to commemorate the anniversary of Dr. Martin King Jr.'s
assassination. Community groups represented included Unity for Action; All-People's
Congress; TEAM; I Can't, We Can; Korean Cultural Group; and members of AFSCME
Local 1072. The families of Eli McCoy and Larry Hubbard--two young African
American men killed by the police--spoke at a rally preceding the march.
The protesters called for more city services and an end to police killings.
