NEW YORK
March demands amnesty for all
Thousands of immigrants marched through midtown Manhattan
Oct. 14 to demand a general amnesty for all undocumented
immigrant workers. The crowd--overwhelmingly Latin
American--chanted against the criminalization of immigrant
workers. They also called for jobs, housing and human rights.
Many demonstrators denounced the recent brutal beating of two
Long Island immigrants by racists who lured them to an isolated
area after offering them jobs.
