JUSTICE FOR DIALLO
All out for Albany, N.Y., Jan. 31 & Feb. 4
The trial of the New York police officers who shot Amadou
Diallo--an unarmed West African man--in the Bronx on Feb. 4,
1999, has been moved to Albany, N.Y.
"This change of venue is a racist move to avoid a mainly
Black and Latino jury pool and a Black woman judge," stresses
the Capital Region Justice for Diallo Committee.
The committee has called for protests in Albany on both Jan.
31, the first day of jury selection, and Feb. 4, the
anniversary of Diallo's shooting death. Demonstrate at Academy
Park at Eagle & Elk Streets, across from the County
Courthouse from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
