A VOICE FROM HARPER'S FERRY

'Buy this book'

Excerpts from a talk by Pam Africa, a guest speakerfrom the International Concerned Family and Friends of Mumia Abu-Jamal at the Workers World Party conference .

Everybody needs to get this book--"A Voice from Harper's Ferry." I haven't read all the way through it, but being that Workers World's involved with it, I think it's great.

When we did the Town Hall meeting [for Mumia Abu-Jamal] last year, no one knew that this fool system would choose Dec. 2--the date 140 years ago that they executed John Brown--as the date to execute Mumia Abu-Jamal.

At the Town Hall event Mumia was given the John Brown award. And it brought in a whole other realm of people into the case of Mumia.

No one knew that this book would be coming out around that time. It's an educational piece that everyone must have.

I'm going to make sure that different radio programs invite Monica, and whoever else, to come and talk about this book.

I'd like to really, really thank my family and Workers World for your committed, uncompromising support, because we built such a family here for any decision dealing with the case of Mumia.

There's a movement that is happening that cannot be stopped. When these people lifted that Dec. 2 death warrant, it wasn't because the judge was a fair judge. If he was fair he would have lifted that death warrant on day one. If he was a fair judge, damn it, Mumia would be on the streets today.

The credit belongs with the people, the movement.

With unity let's continue to fight. I will always be associated with Workers World and I'm going to get down and go buy this book.

On the Move. I love my family. Free Mumia. Free Leonard Peltier. Free all political prisoners.
