Greengrocery workers rally against poverty wages
People in New York depend on the work of greengrocers to
provide fresh fruits and vegetables every day. Most are
immigrants who may make as little as $2.50 an hour and work 60
to 70 hours a week. But they're fighting for better wages,
benefits and working conditions. Greengrocery workers rallied
July 12 in support of an organizing drive at Graceland Markets
by UNITE Local 169.
