Maryland rally against the Klan
The Baltimore chapter of the All-Peoples
Congress has called for a protest against the Ku Klux Klan at
the State Capitol in Annapolis, Md., at 12 noon on Feb. 7. The
protest is in response to the Klan's announced plans to
demonstrate against Black History Month on that day.
APC organizer Andre Powell said: "We will not let this
vicious, racist group rally without opposition. It is no
accident that the Klan announced its rally after the legal
lynching of African American State Sen. Larry Young, and
following a rash of racist killings by police in Baltimore and
other Maryland cities.
"We call on all progressive-minded people and all community,
student and church groups to mobilize to stop the Klan."
Powell said information on buses and demonstration logistics
is available at (410) 235-7040.
