Cuba caravan honors Rev. Lucius Walker
Published Jul 21, 2011 10:51 PM
One of the four buses in the Pastors for Peace Cuba Caravan that arrived
in Houston on July 16 had an image of caravan founder Rev. Lucius Walker that
caught everyone’s eye. Two artists affiliated with New York’s La
Peña del Bronx — one a Mexican, the other a Chilean — painted
the striking image. These two men used their talent in solidarity with the
Cuban Revolution and to honor Walker, who died last September. At a welcome
dinner and program for the caravan, the room reverberated with the chant
“Rev. Lucius Walker, Presente!”
