Protest of new right-wing governor in Ohio

Published Jan 13, 2011 8:08 PM

On Jan. 8 in Columbus, Ohio, more than 200 people came out to protest the inauguration of the incoming right-wing governor, John Kasich. The march and rally were called by the newly formed Defend Ohio Coalition. The Lucasville Uprising Freedom Network was well received by the mostly student and youth crowd, who are very much opposed to the death penalty and in support of the current hunger strike organized by leaders of the Lucasville prison uprising in 1993. Union members also participated, as Gov. Kasich seeks to make Ohio a so-called right-to-work state.
