'Surge' of protest at Times Square

Activists from the immigrant rights, Katrina, and anti-war movement protested on Jan. 15 in Times Square in New York to denounce Bush’s announcement of a “surge” of troops to Iraq, and to demand an end to funding for the war and an immediate return of all troops.

The multinational rally was spirited, with chanting and a moving picket line that ended in a powerful rally.
